This leader in the higher education sector delivers education via 27 campuses internationally and has served over 300,000 alumni as of January 2023. For CapEx and OpEx reasons as well as flexible operational improvements and as part of a technology modernization initiative, a decision was made to migrate staff off their long-standing Cisco Voice solution. Over the course of a few months, detailed migration plans were created, services provisioned, numbers ported, and automations built. Because ServiceNow was the provisioning platform of choice, an integration workflow and automations were designed to automatically provision licensing and phone numbers without IT having to leave the ServiceNow interface. Thousands of users were successfully migrated to a modern unified collaboration platform as a result of this engagement.
